Do you know where this photo was taken? Someone is calling me out on its authenticity. I shared it and someone put a border underneath saying it was from Dearborn. Can you help me?
I am sorry I cannot help you other than to give you my opinions. I found the picture thru Google images and do not know its heritage. The shading and rippling on the banner makes me believe it is an authentic banner and message. I doubt highly that it is in Dearborn or anywhere else in America. An anti-democracy rally by Muslims in America is going to raise a immense amount of suspicion and FBI surveillance. Also Michigan Muslims are usually very pro-American, having come to America seeking freedom from the oppression many of them experienced in Iran. Additionally, the Muslims in Michigan (and much of America) are usually more Middle eastern or Arabic in appearance; the men in this picture seem more Indian or Tamil or Bangladeshi in appearance. One more point that many Americans really need to bear in mind: Muslims themselves have said that what they find that when Muslims come to America they are more shaped by American materialism than they are successful in “islamizing” America. I personally think we ought to be much more concerned about materialism than the growth of the Muslim population in America.
congrats to woman on right for posting this question and to blog author for posting and to those who tracked the source and posted the answer. I was questioning it’s locale and found the answer here.

This image is from a protest that happened in Kabul, Afghanistan in 2009:

There is a separate demonstration that just happened in Dearborn:

Don’t spread unconfirmed rumors, or mislabel photos.
